1. IIM, Ahmedabad
The leader among the leaders, IIM-A has expanded the boundaries of management education to include one-year full time residential programmes for Executives and in Public Management and Policy. A mid-career program for IAS officers in Governance Challenges for India and a Certificate Course in Business Administration for Defence Personnel are other noteworthy interventions added with Post Graduate programmes in Agriculture-Business Management. IIM-A also offers a large number of MDPs and Executive Education Programmes in India and abroad.
2. XLRI, Jamshedpur
XLRI, Jamshedpur is a premier management institute with labour and rural exposure. It has a unique program of consultancy by students for young entrepreneurs. Courses on Social Research Methods and Business Research Methods are offered as electives. Real life case studies by Prahlad Kakkar are the distinctive features of XLRI. Real life projects were undertaken for practically every elective and Social Research Method and Business Research Method courses.
3. MDI, Gurgaon
MDI, Gurgaon strives to produce thought leaders and change masters through linkages with corporate and international academic communities. 5. SVKM’s NMIMS, Mumbai
SVKM'S NMIMS, Mumbai is a story of transformation from an institute to a university and thus integrating management education system with technology management education. The social sector interventions with social entrepreneurship and corporate social responsibility and compulsory subjects for all students. 11FT, New Delhi set up by the Ministry of Commerce, GOI in 1963 got Deemed University status in 2002. It provides special focus on development of External Trade Sector of India. IIFT launched master's program in International Business in 1986. IIFT has a very strong presence in Social Sector programmes through a wide network of reputed NGOs.
9. IMT, Ghaziabad
IMT, Ghaziabad an integrated B-School has gone global by setting up its Dubai Campus approved by UAE Government and drawing international faculty. IMT has set up Centres of Excellence in Supply Chain Management Information Management, Financial Research and Environment Management. It also lays focus on research and publication with its faculty members editing and guest editing professional journals.

It presents a synthesis of business perspective with technology and IT-related industry Proof of concept labs are being used as learning resources Symbiosis has set up Centre of Excellence for Corporate Social Responsibilities.
13. IMT, New Delhi
IMI, New Delhi, set up in 1981 in collaboration with International Management Institute, Geneva, has over 3,500 alumni in more than 10 countries. It has a high degree of involvement of alumni in interviewing candidates and participating in their induction. IMI introduced a new course on HR Management in 2005 and the one-year Executive MBA Program was revised to 15 months, adding a 3-month live research project to the course. IMI now enjoys an equal relationship with all its exchange partners in Europe, Australia and Asia. It is sought by business schools in the US for developing links for students and faculty exchange.

15. Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management, Delhi

Under social sector programmes, LBSIM has undertaken a research study entitled "Management of National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme" of the Government of India in six states. The objective is to find out how best NREGS can be beneficial to the 40 percent of rural populace who live below the poverty line. A pilot study undertaken by the Institute's Research Centre, The Lal Bahadur Shastri Research Centre for Public Policy and Social Change (LBSRC)—for four select districts of Uttar Pradesh in this context, has revealed enormous benefits of the scheme for the rural populace of India.

IIFM is the nodal agency for sustainable forest management in India and has set up an International Centre for Community Forestry which documents best practices and disseminates information. Institute of Management—Nirma University, Ahmedabad organizes course in "Managing Social Projects" which attempts to create managers who are socially responsible.
